Sharing our blessings have become the greatest values we
inherited from our grandparents and our grandparents’ parents. We love to share
what we have to our loved ones. During Christmas season we extend our
generosity not only to our relatives and family member, but to the less
fortunate who doesn’t have much in life.
On the 17th of December, 2016, just few days
before Christmas, USPF NSTP class prepared a very special gift to the kids at
Ludo Cemetery in Cebu City. We went there early morning so we can prepare the
place and the presents we have for them. We started with a short program, games
and then had a little “share a meal” with them. But due to large numbers of
kids we decided to give them our share of food instead. The kids were very
happy. We can see how they craved for the chicken joy from Jollibee. As if that
was that time they were able to eat the delish meal.
After they finish their meal, we started giving them the
presents that we have prepared for them. Some of them received toys,
chocolates, clothes, art materials and many more. The kids were very happy.
Their eyes sparkled with joy and gratitude.
When we were about to end our program, our Professor, Mr.
Juanito Galos give a little piece of advice to kids, with their parents beside
them. That the place they live in is not a proper place to live in. That is why
they need to work hard or go to school if possible because it is the only way
they can get out of the place where they live right now.
It was a bit emotional for the parents and for us. We were
deeply touch by the celebration. It was all worth it. It was such a fulfilling
moment when we were able to make the children happy. Certainly, it won’t be the
last. There is more to come, from us who are willing to help the best way we
can!
