Barangay Kamputhaw Bureau of Fire Protection conducted a Fire Prevention/ Fire Management Drill spearheaded by SFO1 Romeo T. Birao at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation last March 4, 2017. This is in line with R.A 9514 Presidential proclamation no. 115-A.
The seminar aims to spread awareness on how we can prevent fire incidents due to the growing numbers of fire incidents in our world today due to lack of knowledge and lack of preparation in situation like this.
The said seminar started with a very informative lecture on how we can prevent fire break out in our household, how to put off fire, safety precautions on using LPG, how to use fire extinguishers, and what to do in case of fire break out.
SFO1 Birao also discussed the possible reasons and factors as to why there is a delay for some fire fighters when it comes to responding to any fire break out. He also discussed about the different types of fires and the most effective ways in putting them off.
The afternoon part of the seminar was the simulation and application of what we have learned during the lecture. All of the activities were safely done at the University field.
The simulation were as follows:
* Manage Fire by using Fire Extinguishers
* Manage to Extinguish Fire (LPG)
* Manage to Extinguish Fire using Water Basin
* Manage to Extinguish Fire using Fire Truck Hose
All of the NSTP student were able to demonstrate and participated the said activity. It was indeed a very informative and very useful seminar for all of us because we will never know when these emergency happen.
We were indeed glad that NSTP class includes these seminars and training to our curriculum.
