Truly,
Cebuano’s are religious in nature. With our annual Sinulog festival celebrated
every third Sunday of January, people from all around the country fly to Cebu
to witness the said festival and to give honor and glory to Señor Santo Niño.
With this event The NSTP students from different schools are mandated to
cooperate and to help managing the crowd.
The Sinulog procession was held last January
14, 2014. Thousands of catholic devotees gathered together to witness and to
join the said procession. As expected NSTP students joined the said celebration
to help manage the massive crowd. Other members of law enforcement agencies
were also present during the said event. Some volunteers, reserve corps,
policemen military were seen on the streets to make sure the safety of the
people.
The procession started around 2 pm participated
many people coming from all different places, young children, families, members
of the catholic church,, knights of Columbus, elderly, walked together bearing
the image of baby Jesus in their hands. Tourist from all around the world were
also spotted during the procession. The famous “Bato Balani” was sung all
throughout the procession.
Truly, it was an amazing experience for us,
NSTP students to be able to participate in the biggest celebration of our City.
We are so proud that we were able to help our community even in a simple way.
Even though it was raining our spirit was filled with gladness that we have
witnessed the event and was able to help in managing the crowd. It was surely a
worthy experience. We went home with a happy heart J
